Here we have a lovely Everite with the robust FHF 905 automatic movement. Everite was the brand for the H Samuel jeweller in the UK. The service process is quite straight forward as the watch is running well and no issue before the service.
This is the result after the service.

First the automatic module is removed together with the rotor |
Then the balance and the pallet fork removed - making sure the mainspring is released before removing the pallet or things start flying |
After that is the main bridge and the wheel train removed - note the sub-bridge supporting the centre wheel and there is a cap for the centre wheel and also the centre seconds pinion |
Turning the movement over and now is to remove the calendar and the keyless works on the dial side |
After the calendar cover is removed, the calendar mechanism is visible - note the plastic finger of the calendar jump wheel |
All of the calendar parts removed as well as centre wheel and the canon pinion - only thing left is the crown wheel and the winding pinion and the yoke and the setting lever spring etc etc |
All the parts of the watch |
After cleaning, the reassemble process starts |
First, of course is the calendar mechanism being assembled |
After the cover is back on, make sure all covered jewel holes are oiled properly and also the keyless works must be checked and oiled |
Then over to the other side, the wheel train is now ready to go in |
Centre wheel in and the sub-bridge, and make sure the steel oil retaining cap is also clean and properly lubricated |
Barrel, and the wheel train are in - the escapement wheel is oilded at this point before being assembled |
The main bridge is quite easy to fit as there are only 3 wheels to deal with |
Then the crown wheel and the rachet wheel fitted and make sure the wheel train is running smoothly and oil accordingly at the jewel holes |
The pallet fork is oiled and put ack together and the watch is running immediately with a half a turn of the mainspring |
Now, our attention turns to the automatic unit and is completely disassenbled |
After checking all the wheels and pivots, they are oiled accordingly and put back into the bridge - note the configuration of the wheels |
Also the cap jewel of the shock device is inspected and oiled - no stone is unturned :) |
Dial is back on and also the hands - the hands are put in after checking the alignmentof the calendar mechanism |
Automatic module re-assembled and the complete movement back into the case |
Everything back together and the job is done |
Both funky and retro - my favourite style, at an angle, we can see the front of the case is ground flat |
Note the slight projection of the flanged crystal - they are impossible to replace if it is cracked |
The screw back of the watch with all the manufacturer's marking |
Another angle together with the stainless steel bracelet |
The solid stainless steel bracelet is of the highest quality - Stelux also produced bracelets for other premium brands |
After the service the movement is like new and running beautifully - FHF 905 is a stella movement |
Beautiful watch and great photos - What is the crystal made of and why is it impossible to replace?
ReplyDeleteHi, its just normal acrylic crystal, but it is flanged and no one makes those anymore, Sterkruez still making some flanged crystals but they are never quite the right size or shape, so virtually imppossible to replace.
