This is a 50's Sully Special with a very unusual dial. Facetedly cut and partly polished to create the chapter ring of the dial. Also the indexes are create by the machine cut grooves. The result is really elegant and suitable as a dress watch in my opinion. Universal made a similar dial.

NOS Retro Streamline Ricoh Automatic Watch - Ricoh Automatic

Seriously funky Ricoh with a tonneau streamline stainless steel case. Beautiful cotes de Geneve pattern dark purple grey dial with Date and day at 6 o'clock. I have been resisting in wearing it for ages and although Ricoh watches aren't in the same league of some of the highend Swiss watches and I consider many of them possess more charm and character.

Really Cool Dugena Manual Jump Hour Watch - Amida/Dugena 4400

This is a really cool German brand - Dugena housing a Swiss made Amida 140 hand wind jewel lever movement. Amida as a watch company wasn't particularly famous for its quality especially for some of its pin lever escapements which weren't that great in my opinion. However this movement has a jewel lever and is a diferent league in terms of accuracy and durability. It has a minimalistic case design and dial.

Retro Langendorf Watch Co - 70s Lanco Automatic - AS 2063

Lanco merged with Omega/Tissot in the 70s at the height of the quartz crisis. This Lanco automatic is probably the late production from Lanco before they ceased production in 1973 (according to the web). Its a shame as the design of the watch still looks and feels relevant by today's standard and I consider this as vastly superior than many modern fashion watches.

Massive 70's Jaquet Droz Automatic watch - ETA 2789

Massive 70's vintage Jaquet Droz in solid stainless steel case. Jaquet Droz is still trading and producing premium quality mechanical watches although this one must be from their cheaper range as the rotor is not marked with their name or logo on it. I have all reasons to believe this watch is genuine because it was still seal with its bag when I bought it and still have the original tag. Very substantial and blocky in design and the watch looks and feels solid and heavy. Together with the aperture-cut-out dial and the integrated steel bracelet, the watch is a prime example of 70's design: bold, colourful and daring.

I bought this watch almost 10 years ago and I consider the design of this watch is the maddest and yet beautiful in a somewhat kitsch way. Gold and black and silver colour from the steel case creates a combination not often seen. Although I must admit not everyone who have seen the watch shares the same enthusiasm... but I like it!

Funky, retro and futuristic Tressa Laser Beam Automatic - AS 2066

We have here a super funky watch by a relatively small watch company named Tressa. They were not the biggest but in my mind certainly the boldest and brave enough to put some eccentric designs into production.

Both retro and futuristic in todays eyes, the watch doesn't look out-dated and in my mind it is much more tasteful comparing to the new modern retro look-a-likes which somehow plasticky and souless. Have a look and judge it by yourself.

STB Meeting - Remember Automatic Alarm - AS 5008 very rare

This is a very rare STB automatic alarm powered by the legendary AS calibre 5008. There weren't that many automatic alarm calibre even back in the hayday of the 60s and 70s. Only Omega(Lemania), LeCoultre, Seiko and A. Schild have developed automatic alarm calibres. Only the 5008 are sold as ebauches to other smaller watch manufacturers. In fact I had encountered a relatively new modern Maurice Lacroix (in the 90s) that were fitted with they AS 5008.

I have learned that the company STB was an manufacturer of pigeon racing clock/timer as their main business. So somewhere in time (most likely to be in the 70s) someone at STB had commissioned a batch of wristwatches and designed a illustrated pigeon dial to go with it. There are a white dial version as well.

The Tissot Seastar featured here isn't a commonly seen model. I acquired it about 7 years ago as a NOS. I have examined it in detail with caution because it has a non - Tissot - Omega - Lemania - movement. It has a AS ebauche movement. The dial feet are intact and fit well into the movement. The movement fits well into the case and the movement have case screws that matches the case screw indent on the edge. The conclusion is that it is an authentic Tissot with an AS ebauche movement.
