Massive 70's Jaquet Droz Automatic watch - ETA 2789

Massive 70's vintage Jaquet Droz in solid stainless steel case. Jaquet Droz is still trading and producing premium quality mechanical watches although this one must be from their cheaper range as the rotor is not marked with their name or logo on it. I have all reasons to believe this watch is genuine because it was still seal with its bag when I bought it and still have the original tag. Very substantial and blocky in design and the watch looks and feels solid and heavy. Together with the aperture-cut-out dial and the integrated steel bracelet, the watch is a prime example of 70's design: bold, colourful and daring.

Movement:

• Movement is ETA 2789. Swiss Made.
• 21,600 Hi-beat movement.
• Rotor marked 25 Jewels, Swiss Made.
• Power reserve roughly 48 hours
• Size: Diameter - 25.6mm, Height - 5.9mm.
• Incabloc shock protection system
• Date/Day display, Date quick set function by pulling out the crown by 1 click.

Case and bracelet:

• Substantial and blocky full stainless steel case.
• Duotone case. (horizontal grain top and polished sides)
• Case width is 38mm not including the crown, 44mm from lug to lug.
• Case back is stainless steel makerd Swiss Made, Stainless Steel, Waterproof.
• The bracelet is 26mm wide.
• Original unsigned crown.
• Original flanged acrylic crystal.
• Origina; integrated stainess steel bracelet with unsigned clasp.

The dial and hands:

• Very attractive blue and dark blue gradient silver dial with a light blue indexes as chapter ring.
• Stylish raised steel baton hourly markers with white stripe.
• Date day apertures at 3 o'clock.
• Dial marked Jaquet Droz, 25 Rubis Automatic, Swiss Made at 6.
• Steel hour, minute hands with lume slot. Painted white steel second hand.

Note the absence of logo or markings of Jaquet Droz, but with the movement spacer and the general fit and finish of the watch, I am satified that the watch and the movement is genuine
